Accounting Professor Joins HPU School of Business

HIGH POINT, N.C., April 17, 2015 – Dr. Jo Lacy joined the High Point University Phillips School of Business this school year as an assistant professor of accounting.

At HPU, Lacy teaches accounting and finance classes, advises and mentors students, and conducts academic research in the areas of pedagogy and judgment/decision making.

Lacy previously taught business classes at The George Washington University, George Mason University, University of Central Florida and Illinois Wesleyan University. Prior to her career in teaching, she was a management consultant for Ernst & Young and an independent auditor for what is now PWC. Lacy’s variety of experience in instruction and the industry allows her to not only teach, but also help students navigate the challenges of starting their careers.

“High Point University is incredible not only for the immediately obvious reasons,” says Lacy.  “It’s the personal touches that make this place really something special.”

Lacy received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Hampton University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia. She also received her doctorate in accounting from The George Washington University.
