HIGH POINT, N.C., July 20, 2017 – High Point University has been named to the 2017-18 Colleges of Distinction list, a unique college guide that honors institutions with an innovative, teacher-centered undergraduate education and a strong record of preparing graduates for real-world success. This is the seventh consecutive year HPU has been included on the list.
The Colleges of Distinction list is based upon exemplary commitment to four distinctions: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes, all of which reflect HPU’s values-based, holistic education model. HPU is one of 13 universities in North Carolina to be named to the list.
New to this year’s recognitions, HPU also earned Fields of Study distinctions for the Philips School of Business and the Stout School of Education.
These newly created acknowledgements are available to schools with first-rate programs and recognized professional accreditations.
HPU is preparing graduates to lead lives of significance. In recent studies, 95 percent of HPU graduates find employment and graduate school placement within six months of graduation.
“At High Point University we focus on preparing our students not for the world as it is, but for the world as it is going to be,” says HPU President Dr. Nido Qubein. “We will continue to foster an innovative learning environment while remaining dedicated to our core values. We are appreciative of this recognition and for the HPU families, alumni and friends who have faithfully and continuously supported HPU and our holistic approach.”
