JUNIOR SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Our Junior Scholar Program is a competitive and highly selective program and we need your help in order to identify your outstanding high school juniors! These students have strong, demonstrated interest in HPU, exceptional academic achievement, leadership and remarkable extracurricular involvement. Details about the nomination process will be sent to our counselor contacts in the spring.

More information about the Junior Scholar Program is available here.

BOOK AWARD

The High Point University Book Award is a distinguished honor for sophomore high school students who not only show great academic and social prowess, but also model an intuitive, growth mindset as well as demonstrated excellence and service in and out of the classroom. We seek nominations from counselors who believe this individual embodies stellar performance in the classroom, but also serves and wants to make a difference in the community. This is an individual who leads by example, understands the importance of academic endeavors and has a commitment for improving today’s community.

Information about how to nominate your student for a Book Award will be sent out through our counselor contact list in the Spring of 2025.

FAQ'S

We value our counselor partnerships, we welcome and encourage you to reach out to your admissions counselor to connect about your students applications to best prepare them for the admissions process. You can find your counselor here.

We welcome group visits to our campus! All group visits are hosted through our campus visit program. All group tours include an information session followed by a 60 minute walking tour of campus. You are able to inquire about a group visit here.

We hope Slate.org will be a useful tool for you to help your students! You are able to upload documents, track your applicant’s status and receive notice of their decisions. Slate.org will allow us to convey a student’s decision to you after a student has viewed it.

Visit Slate.org and click the registration link in the main toolbar.

One member of your school will be designated to manage permissions. Click here for an overview of how to get started. If you have previously submitted documents through the Common Application, you are pre-approved for a Slate.org account.

You can upload all transcripts (excluding the final official version), mid-year grade reports, letters of recommendation and other needed materials.

We prefer to receive documents electronically – whether through Common App, Naviance, Parchment or a similar platform. Even if you typically submit documents through one of these platforms, there may be times you find you need to submit a corrected transcript or other non-standard documents. Slate.org is simply another option and a great way to submit that information conveniently and securely. If you work at a school that does not have access to electronic document submission, Slate.org will provide this functionality.

Slate.org may also be used by school counselors, independent counselors, and community-based organizations to ease the burden of scheduling visits with college representatives.
