Why Be a Natural Sciences Fellow?
This four-year specialized program within the Wanek School of Natural Sciences is for students who show exceptional promise in pursuing academic degrees in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, neuroscience, or physics. Membership is highly selective and limited to the top 50 incoming natural sciences students in each academic year. It includes professional travel, undergraduate research, informal discussions with world-renowned scientists, coaching, a $3,000 Scholarship renewable annually based upon academic performance and adherence to program guidelines, and so much more. Alumni Success
Samantha (Sam) Dunn HPU ’22 (BS in Biology, Natural Sciences Fellows), is in her second year of vet school at NC State University. After completing her first year, she was accepted into the Veterinary Scholars Program (Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research T35 Training Program) for the summer of 2023. "In countless ways, High Point University paved the path to my acceptance to the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. My professors and Natural Sciences Fellows' experiences allowed me to obtain the hours required in order to apply to the VMCAS. In addition, being a Fellow prepared me for the workload and research that I now have as a veterinary student. Finally, I had a professor who supported me through the entire process including reviewing my application, assisting in class scheduling, preparing me for interviews and so much more. I believe that without her support and guidance I would not have had such success in applying to Veterinary Colleges."

Step 1: What to Expect
Membership includes a $3,000 scholarship renewable annually based upon academic performance and more.
Step 2: HPU Application
To be considered for membership, first submit the High Point University undergraduate admissions application.
Step 3: Application Questions
Admission to the Natural Sciences Fellows includes the evaluation of your answers to three short essay questions. Here they are.
Step 4: Apply to Join
Go to your PantherPage to submit the Natural Sciences Fellows application by January 15 for priority applicants.
