HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 6, 2012 – High Point University was recently chosen as a member of the 2012-2013 Colleges of Distinctions, a unique online college guide dedicated to honoring schools nationwide for their excellence in student-focused higher education.
The Colleges of Distinction list is based upon exemplary commitment to four distinctions: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes. HPU excelled in all four areas and holds a personal profile on the website.
HPU was chosen as a “Colleges of Distinction” because well-rounded graduates, who are among the best in the country, are created here. This distinction falls in line with HPU’s goal to prepare students to lead lives of significance. This is the second year HPU has been included on the list.
“High Point University is once again honored to have been recognized by Colleges of Distinction,” says Dr. Dennis Carroll, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs. “It is clear that the university is getting well-deserved attention for its outstanding academic programs, the wide array of experiential opportunities for our students, and our focus on holistic education.”
“While each school is one of a kind, they all share a common theme: they are all a great place to get an education,” said Tyson Schritter, executive editor of Colleges of Distinction, about the 2012-2013 list.
At High Point University, every student receives an extraordinary education in an inspiring environment with caring people.℠ HPU, located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, is a liberal arts institution with over 4,200 undergraduate and graduate students at campuses in High Point and Winston-Salem.
