How HPU helped you get there:

“HPU gave me a set of life skills that were transferable beyond what my degrees are in. These allowed me to expand my horizons and reach new industries that I never could have envisioned for myself. The Office of Career and Professional Development played a huge role in my journey. The team was there for me every step of the way, especially Megan Parker, director of corporate relations.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU:

“My most impactful mentor at HPU was Jaime Tamsin, director of conference and event services. She showed me that regardless of the circumstances, you can always overcome. Her tenacity, dedication and calmness are three values I hope to emulate as I enter the events field.”

Most impactful moment at HPU:

“My most impactful moments at HPU were during my time in the Student Government Association, which allowed me to plan events across campus. From the 2022 Honors Day Ceremony to the 20th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony to the annual TAG Week Food Drive and the annual Suicide Prevention Week, these events showed me how events can impact people far beyond your wildest dreams.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success?

“Communication, flexibility and customer service skills are three of the many life skills that HPU helped me develop. Being able to deliver an extraordinary experience to guests on campus while communicating information and remaining flexible as a member of the University Events Team helped prepare me for success. The skills I developed at HPU are transferable in so many fields.”

What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation?

“Kindness and determination are two of the values I have taken with me. I will always remember the way people on campus made me feel and I will always remember how determined people were to achieve their goals.”

Advice for underclassmen:

“Use your network! The people you meet and develop relationships with while at HPU will support you beyond graduation so don’t hesitate to reach out to them.”
