“HPU prepared me for the future by teaching me new ways of thinking, which allowed me to view problems from different perspectives. The Office of Career and Professional Development was a very useful resource for me. The staff helped me create and perfect my resume for graduate school applications.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: 

“Dr. Kevin Ford, dean of the Congdon School of Health Sciences, was my most impactful mentor at HPU. I worked on undergraduate research with Dr. Ford in the human biomechanics and physiological lab for more than three years of my time at HPU and presented our research at a national sports medicine conference in California. This is just one of many things Dr. Ford gave me the opportunity to do, and I am forever thankful.”

Most impactful moment at HPU:

“My most impactful moment at HPU was joining the Sigma Nu fraternity. This experience helped me create lifelong friendships and my own personal network with fraternity brothers from around the country.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success?

“HPU taught me so many life skills. I learned how to communicate effectively and be a confident leader. HPU’s fine-dining learning labs taught me how to behave professionally. I also learned the importance of being accountable.”

What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation?

“Always remember where you come from and look to God for guidance in everything you do.”

Advice for underclassmen:

“Be excited about what you are studying. Don’t be afraid to switch your major if don’t find your classes interesting. Remember to call your parents because they miss you and want to hear your voice.”
