“HPU prepared me for my future by offering so many classes focused on life skills. This sets HPU apart from other universities and really shows how great HPU is. The life skills I learned at HPU will help me in my future. The Office of Career and Professional Development helped me with my resume and cover letter. The staff organized mock interviews with me to help me practice my interview skills and prepare for my job search.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: 

“My most impactful mentor at HPU was Larry Quinn, director of the Professional Selling Program and chair of the Department of Marketing and Sales. He always was there to help me with any questions I had, and he encouraged me to do my best even if I don’t succeed at first.”

Most impactful moment at HPU:

“My most impactful moment at HPU was when I was elected treasurer of my sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. Being in this leadership position taught me so many great lessons that I can apply to my career now.”

How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success?

“HPU gave me so many opportunities to connect with great companies and professionals in my desired field. These resources contributed to my success and helped me start my career.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success?

“HPU helped me develop independence. I’m no longer afraid to step outside of my comfort zone, and being able to take risks has helped me succeed in my current position and will continue to be an asset in my future.”

What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation?

“HPU helped me understand and appreciate the importance of friendship. As a freshman, I was scared to put myself out there, but getting involved gave me the chance to make new friends and meet so many students, and this is something I don’t take for granted.”

Advice for underclassmen:

“Don’t be afraid of failure.”
