HIGH POINT, N.C., March 27, 2024 – The High Point University Chapel invites the HPU family and surrounding community to an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 31, at 7 a.m. on the Kester International Promenade in front of the Charles E. Hayworth Chapel.
Student leaders in the chapel community will lead worship, and the Rev. Dr. Preston Davis, minister of the university, will provide a sermon centered on the Easter story. Communion will also be shared with those in attendance.
“This worship service has become a lovely addition to the spiritual life of our campus,” said Davis. “Faculty, staff and community members have gathered each Easter morning to see the sun rise. More importantly, we witness to the good news of Christ’s resurrection. Love rises, hope rises and God defeats the bonds of death then and now.”

Attendees should enter campus from the University Parkway gate. Parking will be available behind Hayworth Chapel and Norton Hall. The service will be moved inside the chapel if it rains.
A light breakfast and coffee will be served ahead of the worship service.
The service will be livestreamed and can be watched on the university website at testwww.highpoint.edu/live-stream or the HPU Chapel Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/hpuchapel or YouTube channels at https://www.youtube.com@hpuchapel.
