Name: Jonathan Hahn, Class of 2024

How HPU helped you get there: “HPU taught me to think like an entrepreneur in a corporate setting. While it sounds simple, the best thing I learned about business at HPU is that the most innovative individuals are those who can think outside the box, offering added value instead of another generic idea in order to fit a company’s status quo.

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Dr. Andrea Hunt, instructor of management and entrepreneurship, taught me about building the bridge between integrity and profit. She taught me that if you start a business or job with ethical standards that can simultaneously produce a profitable business model, you’ll end up in the top 1% of your category. It’s tough to find honesty and profitability in the same basket these days, and those who can uphold that are a unicorn.”

Most impactful moment at HPU:  “The military ball at the Congdon School of Health Sciences was an event that came full circle to combine my commitment of ROTC and my passion for a God, Family and Country university.”

How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “The idea of innovation and the spark to take action is contagious. Buildings such as Cottrell Hall, where forward-thinking minds are always collaborating and fostering a high-paced and high-expectation environment, allow students to truly bloom when it comes to building their skill set.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success?  “Accountability, unapologetic effectiveness in my work flow and respect.”

What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “Honesty and integrity trump all. Getting ahead by cutting corners will always catch up with you. Those who can be productive and effective in an organization while maintaining honest standards will end up being the most successful.”

Advice for underclassmen:  “Be honest and uphold integrity.”
