How HPU helped you get there: “HPU taught me life skills that no other school would have. Most importantly, my sales major has taught me great interview skills, such as using the two-minute drill when talking with an interviewer.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Dr. Nasir Assar, associate professor of economics and the MBA Program Director, is the reason I chose my career path. He helped me when I was a lost sophomore and helped guide me to where I am today. Dr. Assar has been one of the best influences on my life.”
How you used Career & Professional Development: “I used the Office of Career & Professional Development to help me create my resume, which helped me land my job at Schwab.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “The life skills HPU helped me develop were how to properly eat at a fine dining restaurant, how to conduct yourself in a professional manner and how to carry on a conversation.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “Dedication, perseverance and humility.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Never give up. Whenever school gets tough ask for help, or just take a step back and breathe. Go to the C-store at Yadkin Market and get a snack! Remember that at HPU, your professors care for you.”
