Post-graduation plans: Natalie is heading to Manhattan, New York, to start her career as a Trust Solutions Associate-Audit for PwC. As an associate on PwC’s Audit Services team in the Banking Capital Markets division, Natalie will be responsible for analyzing and reviewing the financial statements and regulatory compliance of major banking institutions. Her role also involves assessing risk management practices, ensuring the accuracy of capital allocations and providing insights to enhance financial stability and efficiency within the banking sector.
How HPU helped you get there: “High Point University helped me get to where I am today by combining world-class education with experiential learning. I grew as both an individual and as a professional.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Christina Griffith, professor of the practice of accounting, was my most impactful mentor at HPU. Her belief and her encouragement have pushed me far beyond where I believed I could go. From asking me to be her student instructor to helping me start the accounting club, I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor to have by my side these past four years.”
How you used Career & Professional Development: “During my freshman year at HPU, I went to the Office of Career and Professional Development to have my résumé checked over. They informed me that my résumé was in the wrong format, so most companies’ scanners were throwing it out instead of reading it. Once I fixed my proper format with the Office of Career and Professional Development’s help, I was able to get an internship in my sophomore year.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Take advantage of every opportunity High Point University provides you, and see every interaction as an opportunity to network because you have no idea the impact you can have on another person’s life or the impact they can have on yours.”
