Post-graduation plans: Delaney started her career as a Social Media Coordinator for Allure Bridals, an international company based in Memphis, Tennessee. As a Social Media Coordinator, she manages multiple social media accounts and creates content that fits the different aesthetics of the sub-brands under the umbrella of Allure Bridals. Additionally, Delaney also captures content at in-house photoshoots and assist in managing influencer partnerships.
How HPU helped you get there: “HPU helped me gain hands-on experience with marketing and social media so that I had real work examples to show potential employers.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “My most impactful mentor at HPU was Joe Michaels, Professor of the Practice of Media Production. He cared about my personal growth as much as my academic growth and always supported the project ideas I had.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “HPU’s inspiring environment boosted my confidence exponentially and helped me tap into my full potential.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “The most important life skill I learned at HPU was finding ways to create personal connections with professionals. Asking the right questions and presenting myself confidently has helped me form genuine connections with people I probably would’ve been too scared to approach before HPU.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Don’t get discouraged! At times it may feel like every job is ghosting you, but that just means those places don’t value your strengths enough. After lots of applications, you’ll eventually find the position that feels like it was made just for you.”
