How HPU helped you get there: “The biggest thing HPU did that prepared me for the future was instill confidence in me. The Office of Career and Professional Development had a huge impact on me. From helping me in the initial stages of my job search to my final interview, the Career and Professional Development Office helped me every step of the way. I was prepared and confident entering the job world, all because of them and my great support system.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Each person I’ve come across has impacted my experience in one way or another and made my time here at HPU so memorable. That being said, I would like to thank Daniel Hall, the dean of the Phillips School of Business, for always believing in me and helping me achieve my goals. Dean Hall is at HPU because he truly cares about each and every one of his students and wants to make HPU the best it can be. He’s doing an amazing job growing the business school and has guided so many students to achieve their goals and dream jobs.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “As cliche as it might sound, my most impactful moment at HPU was joining my sorority. I was fortunate enough to join a group of such amazing girls who made me a better and stronger individual. I met my best friends through the organization, and I know they will be in my life forever. I was also able to hold multiple leadership roles within my sorority, which made me develop strong leadership skills. Whether it’s a sorority or another organization on campus, I think it’s super important to step out of your comfort zone, find a great group of people and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “The environment at HPU is truly like no other. I have visited tons of campuses all across the country and have never seen anything remotely close to HPU’s. From the dorm rooms to the walk to class, HPU has it all figured out. Whenever I go anywhere now, I always see the smallest of issues or problems because I am so used to how impeccable HPU’s campus is. HPU’s environment is a place I was truly able to learn and thrive in, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “HPU helped me develop an abundance of life skills I know I wouldn’t have gotten if I attended a different school. Some of the main skills consist of leadership, innovative thinking and developing a growth mindset. HPU offers so many different opportunities for students to practice these skills and truly learn how to develop them in real-world scenarios. Now that I am in the business world, I am taking these life skills with me but also continuing to have the mentality and drive to keep learning new life skills as I progress throughout my career.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “HPU truly showed me the importance of God, Family and Country. I will forever hold God, Family and Country close to my heart and that is something I will always remember — whether it’s in the workplace or my everyday life. These are the three most important things to me, and I was lucky enough to go to a school that had the same mindset and supported these values. HPU brought me closer to God, gave me a second family — a home away from home, made me extremely proud to be an American and truly showed me how grateful I should be to live in such an amazing country.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Take advantage of the resources around you! HPU has handed you every resource you could possibly need on a silver platter, so utilize them! I would definitely not be where I am today without the help of all the resources HPU had to offer. I took advantage of every possible resource I could, and I’m beyond happy that I did because it led me to where I am today.”
